The Unitary State of the Republic
of Indonesia (NKRI) has diversity in the lives of its people. Diversity arises
because of many differences such as ethnicity, race, religion, beliefs,
political ideology, socio-cultural, economic and others. Indonesia is a large
country consisting of thousands of islands spread across the country. With such
broad geographical conditions, it is no wonder that Indonesia has a variety of
ethnicities and cultures. Indonesia's wealth is not only from abundant natural
resources, but the diversity of cultural wealth is one of the unifying nations
under the auspices of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. There are
Javanese, Madurese, Betawi, Batak and many other tribes scattered in various
regions.
Diversity is a condition of
people's lives. Such differences exist in ethnicity, religion, race, and
culture. The diversity that exists in Indonesia is the wealth and beauty of the
Indonesian nation. The government must be able to push diversity into a force
to be able to realize national unity and integrity towards a better Indonesia.
The diversity of the Indonesian nation can be shaped by the large number of
ethnic groups living in Indonesian territory and spread across various islands
and regions throughout Indonesia. Each ethnic group has its own characteristics
and characteristics in social and cultural aspects. The diversity that exists
in society, can be a challenge because it is because people who have
differences of opinion can get out of control. The emergence of feelings of
regionalism and excessive tribalism and coupled with actions that can damage
the unity, it can threaten the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. Because
of that, the efforts to achieve harmony can be done by using dialogue and
cooperation with the principles of equality, togetherness, tolerance and mutual
respect for each other. The diversity is caused by several factors such as the
condition of the archipelago, the strategic location of the territory of
Indonesia, differences in natural conditions, public acceptance of changes, and
the state of transportation and communication.
For this reason, we as citizens
of Indonesia must respect, respect, help one another, not bring down, establish
togetherness of each tribe in the archipelago. Because it could be that each
tribe has a different culture with our tribal culture, or even contrary to our
cultural customs. But we must realize that that is the way to maintain the
diversity that exists in our country, so that our country is safe, peaceful and
controlled.
