CORONA COVID-19 VIRUS

            Coronavirus (CoV) is a large family of viruses that cause diseases, ranging from the common cold to more severe illnesses, such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).  Most coronaviruses are harmless viruses.  Coronavirus is a zoonotic virus, meaning that this virus is spread through animals and humans.  Quoted from WHO, the investigation shows that the corona virus that causes SARS (SARS-CoV) is transmitted from ferrets to humans.  Meanwhile, animals that transmit coronaviruses that cause MERS (MERS-CoV) to humans are dromedary camels.  There are also several other viruses found in animals, but have not infected humans.  Corona virus in humans was first discovered in 1960 in the nose of patients affected by the common cold (common cold).  Two coronaviruses in humans, namely OC43 and 229E, are responsible for the occurrence of a portion of the common cold. This virus is named based on crown-like projections on its surface.  "Corona" in Latin means "hello" or "crown".  The spread of coronavirus is the same as viruses that cause other flu, such as from coughing and sneezing, or from the touch of an infected person.  Almost all people have been infected with the corona virus at least once in their lifetime, usually occurring in children.  Coronavirus is a virus that generally appears in the fall and winter in the United States.  However, everyone can get this virus at any time.

Coronavirus is a virus that has many types.  The name is usually distinguished by the severity of the disease caused and how far it has spread.  Medical News Today said, currently there are six types of corona viruses that infect humans, namely: 229E;  NL63;  0C43;  HKU1.  The more rare types of coronavirus are MERS-CoV which causes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and SARS-CoV, which causes Severe Acute Respiratory syndrome (SARS).  In addition to the six types of coronavirus above, on January 7, 2020, as reported by the website of the world health agency, WHO, the Chinese government confirmed a new type of corona virus that was endemic in late December.  The new corona virus is a type that is not similar to other corona virus groups.  Initially, the virus was named the coronavirus novel 2019 (2019-nCoV) until finally the official name was SARS-CoV-2, the cause of Covid-19 disease.  SARS-CoV-2 causes Covid-19 is suspected of transmitting from animals of bats and snakes to humans.  Even so, this virus has also been confirmed to be transmitted from human to human.  This outbreak was first reported to emerge from the city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China, on December 31, 2019. So, this virus is also called the Wuhan Virus.  The corona virus, which is currently endemic at the end of December 2019, is anticipated in the next month of January 2020. That is when Chinese authorities isolate the city of Wuhan with the aim of slowing the spread of the deadly virus.  According to WHO World Health Organization records, to date it has been detected in 76 countries, with 3,162 fatalities, 92,860 infected and 48,252 curable.  The most affected country was China reaching 95% (80,152 infected, 2,945 died).  The next countries included in the top 10 infected with corona are: South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan, France, Germany, Spain, the US and Singapore.  It is not only the country that has contracted the corona even the Indonesian State has been affected by this virus.  this was announced by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).  At a press conference in Jakarta, Monday (2/3/2020), Jokowi said 2 Indonesian citizens were positively corona.  Indonesian citizens who are positively exposed to the virus by the name Covid-19 are a 64-year-old mother and her 31-year-old daughter.  This mother and child live in Depok, West Java.  Both were exposed to the Corona virus after, a girl danced with a Japanese citizen.  This Japanese citizen is also a close friend of the 31-year-old woman who contracted the corona.
